Bread Pudding with Orange Sauce

Ingredients

6 cups1.5 L about 8 oz/250 g, cubed French bread

3/4 cup175 ml Sun-Maid® Natural Raisins

3 eggs, beaten

1 can300 ml Regular or Low Fat Eagle Brand® Sweetened Condensed Milk

Sauce

2 1/2 cups625 ml hot water

2 tbsp30 ml butter, melted

1 tbsp15 ml grated orange zest

2 tsp10 ml vanilla

1 tsp5 ml cinnamon

1/4 tsp1 ml Windsor® Kosher Salt

Directions

  1 Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC). Grease a 9” x 9” (2.5 L) baking dish.

  2 Place bread and raisins in a large bowl.

  3 Combine remaining ingredients in a separate bowl. Add to bread and raisin mixture. Stir well to combine. Pour into prepared dish.

  4 Bake in preheated oven 40 minutes or until knife inserted in centre comes out clean.

  Sauce

  5 Combine ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat and stir until thickened and bubbly. Serve over warm bread pudding.
