: Combine 6 tablespoons (90 mL) butter, oats, sugar, flour, 1/2 cup (125 mL) walnuts and baking soda. Press firmly on bottom of parchment paper lined 13x9" (3.5 L) baking pan. Bake in preheated 350°F (180°C) oven* 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

: Over medium heat combine remaining 2 tablespoons (30 mL) butter and Eagle Brand. Heat about 10 minutes, stirring till slightly thickened. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over crust.

: Return to oven and bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until golden brown. Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle chips on top. Let stand 1 minute, then spread chocolate while still warm. Garnish with additional walnuts; press down firmly. Cool thoroughly; cut into bars.
